Smash. Smash. Vicious, gigantic paws crunched the leaves that were so used to delicate cat paws into pure oblivion. Snarls gurgled from the throat of the wolven leader, who, until now, had not let a single cat see him and live to tell the tale.
His tail swung violently, his black silhouette tainting the otherwise beautiful scenery. He took one whiff in his wet nose, smelling cats nearby. Cats... hunting cats, he guessed. Well, well. Cerberus was going to have a snack, no...?
He cackled to himself, looking at his tearing claws and his gouging, mutilating teeth. He ducked behind a bush, leaving giant pawprints in his wake- he also made sure to grab a squirrel, crunch its puny spine, and then rip it to shreds until blood stained the forest ground and shattered squirrel bones lay strewn everywhere.
He laid down, resting his head on his paws in demonic patience. ...They /would/ come...

Autumnstar padded in slowly, preparing to wait for Talonscar. She really hoped this would be a pleasant hunt. Her paws folded leaf after leaf daintily as they trod on the soft ground, and then--
Squelch. The EmberClan leader felt her paw sink deeper than it should. She turned her golden head down, just enough to see the pawprint, over ten times the size of her paw. The leader's jaw dropped, her tail up high, and her ears pinned back. Something was abroad.
"Talonscar... If you're there, drop-back. Drop-back-now," she meowed slowly, fear creeping into her voice, and turned, paranoia flooding her.

"Surprise, kitty kitty. Surprise..." The voice was far too deep to be that of a cat. A giant tail swung, whacking a bush as the colossal, black leg shot out, revealing the slightly useless claws that tipped it.
The padded foot was far different than that of a cat. This thing wasn't a cat... nor a mouse, nor a bird, a badger, a snake... none of those. A wolf. Of course, Clan cats had never heard of wolves, so Cerberus took advantage of Autumnstar's fear. He could practically smell the aura of fear that radiated from her.
Another leg jutted forward. Then another, and another... and finally, the dog lunged forward, revealing his yellow glimmering eyes, towering over Autumnstar. He could always trick her, despite the fact that his pack was non-existant at the present time. He sneered, growling loudly as he looked at the cat. "Run, cat. RUN!" The canine didn't dare to pursue her yet, however, feeling extra power coming from her- he would wait, and amuse himself, expecting her to run off, yowling in terror.

Autumnstar quivered for a second, staring in horror, not even her whiskers twitching. Her tail suddenly flicked a bit, and she started, urging her paws to move, to run.
...And they did. The she-cat took off as fast as she could, and took a leap at the nearest tree, claws digging into the bark of the maple. She scrambled up the branches, fur puffed up, and hissing.

Cerberus patiently trotted around the tree like a hungry shark. Oh. This cat looked particularly mouth-watering, though killing the leaders immediately was no fun. His little apprentice, Zephyr... Cerberus should have brought him along. Zephyr would have learned how to be a real wolf. However, he had left the only two other members of his pack currently- Zephyr, the Sigma, and an Epsilon alone. Bah. They could handle themselves for a tidbit while he found some delicious treats.
Cerberus suddenly jumped and lunged- he raked the tree until the bark was completely covered in scratches, and everytime that he launched into the air, he was scarcely a tail-length away from grabbing the branch.
He even resorted to headbutting the tree, as it shuddered in what must have been imaginary agony. He did this just to scare the feline, as he circled, around and around and around... "Tell me, kitty..." He mocked, suddenly ramming into the shaking tree.
"How about we make a deal? I am Cerberus. Lord of the Blood, Warrior of the Moon, the Great Fang. I am the ruler of all the wolves in this land, though we have never set paw in your lands. We are the most powerful beasts. These lands are bountiful." He briefly stopped to snarl at a rabbit, and cackle wickedly as he watched the poor rodent's ears shoot up as it ran in terror.
"Which is why I want them. I'll make a deal with you." The bulky, horrifically muscular dog was quite good at intimidating foes into 'deals'. "I notice there are three other little groups of cats. I'll be merciful. See? Good old Cerberus is being a good little maggot..." He laughed even more. "You give the wolves, oh, say, one-third of the food you catch. I know you have a pile of food. I can smell it from here. My smelling is oh-so-better than yours, kitty-cat."
He halted his horrific pacing, looking at the tracks he had made in the ground. "You give us that tribute every day. Every day, and we'll spare you while your enemies fall before our fangs. How about it, cat? If you have any rationality, you puny things will obey the will of Cerberus..."

Autumnstar scrambled further up the tree as the massive beast shook it. The tips of her ears were pressed hard against the back of her skull as her tail quivered, back and forth, with fear.
Her ears pricked at the harsh rasp of a voice, at least that was what it sounded like to a cat. The leader's head moved slightly, bright green pools darting around and around. At the creature's words, she gasped, and then closed her mouth, to think. It was newleaf, and prey was plentiful-- they could manage to give them food for the season, but later...
"I accept your offer," mewed Autumnstar hoarsely.

Cerberus nodded in twisted satisfaction. "Good, good. I'll be the one to come to your territory. Yes. Me. Nobody else... after all, I know I'm far more powerful than your clan. Give me a few scratches, kitty. Go ahead. I'll just tear your little clan to slivers." He stretched himself happily, and the dog's rumbling, growling voice did sound like a rasping snake to many other creatures.
The dog opened his gaping, bloodied jaws, yawning casually, obviously meaning to show Autumnstar his giant, blood-crusted teeth. "I'll come once the great lord rises, and the great lady disappears and destroys the veil of night. In other words, you have the rest of this day. And then... I shall come. I have two other wolves to feed... and I don't feel like hunting." He snapped lazily, cackling madly.
That was when Cerberus let out a howl that echoed throughout the entire Emberclan territory. "FEAR THE HOWL OF CERBERUS!" He finally snarled, looking at Autumnstar. "You, little cat, will not defy me and my orders, or you will pay with your tails and your heads." With that, the creature loped off at a ridiculous speed. "Make sure to tell your little kitties about me!" He howled mockingly, before the horrific wolf disappeared completely into the foliage.

Autumnstar quivered again. She couldn't do anything but nod slowly. At moonhigh, then, she thought to herself. I'm glad Talonscar didn't stick around...
Thirty minutes later, the leader made her way down the tree, padding paranoidly through the undergrowth. Indeed, dark times were coming to the forest...

Talonscar came over to her leader, she had been stuck in a thorn bush for quite awhile. "Autumnstar?" she asked quietly, "Sorry, I got stuck in a thorn bush-" "I had to pull her out," mewed Cheetahpaw, coming up behind the pale ginger tabby.

Autumnstar would've laughed, but she couldn't. "We have to get back to camp..." she meowed hoarsely. "Let's go."
Weaving slowly in between trees, the leader made her way back.

Talonscar's eyes widened, something was defientley wrong, "Autumnstar, waht's wrong?" she asked, her blue eyes were filled with worry. Cheetahpaw glanced from Talonscar to Autumnstar, "But Autumnstar, we just got here!" she exclaimed, not full understanding what had happened.

The leader turned, bristling. "I'll tell you this evening! You two, please go on a major hunting patrol. Stay away from here, though..." she meowed anxiously, and kept walking.

Talonscar nodded, turning to Cheetahpaw, she signaled wit her tail and padded off, Cheetahpaw following her.
