The shaky feline buried her paws into the ground, latching her claws deep into the dry soil. Those claws had never been used for combat- never would Wetleaf harm a cat. She had a disturbing prophecy, a disturbingly vivid dream from Starclan.
A pool of blood... cat bones scattered about. She was standing on the pool, and she could almost feel the liquid, startling her. Some demonic shape came running, running, running... with one glittering eye, leaving chaos in its wake.
Others were scattered about, focusing on what seemed to be other cats. And yet... this glittering silhouette, with a glimmering eye... it chased her madly, and let out some infernal noise as it lifted its head. It ran faster, latched its jaws around her, and then...
Wetleaf trembled like a... well... wet leaf. The Medicine Cat had given herself some of her herbs to calm her down, but her fur still flared and her yellow eyes looked tired- she yearned to see the excited, beaming faces of the young apprentices, though Wetleaf herself was young.
Oh... what would that grouchy old furball Redeye do? Was Redeye the one who sent her that celestial prophecy? That ferocious nightmare that involved giant beasts? And that... noise?
That noise was so loud. The creature had produced it, and yet she had never heard such a sound in her entire life. "Autumnstar..." She mumbled shakily, putting faith into her leader. She hoped the cat would come back- Wetleaf needed to discuss something with the leader.

Autumnstar padded slowly into the clearing, her fur still slightly puffed up from the attack, and her green eyes darting to and fro. Her tail was flicking anxiously back and forth, and the leader's tufted ears were pinned right against her skull.
Hearing the Medicine Cat's meow, she padded forward, her ears slightly up. "Yes, Wetleaf?" she mewed.

Wetleaf jumped up. "Oh, thank Starclan you're here, Autumnstar!" She noticed how Autumnstar looked like she had seen the ghost of Tigerstar, the ferocious cat of legend who betrayed all. "Are you alright...? I've been having disturbing dreams, Autumnstar." She mumbled shakily. "I haven't been a Medicine Cat for long. They sent me the most horrid dream..." She looked around, cautiously making sure no cats were around as she said in a hushed meow, "There were monsters. Monsters were running around, killing, tearing, and they made the strangest kind of call. It was like some kind of song... some kind of screech, as clear as a bell..."
She trembled even more, shaking almost hysterically as she looked at her leader. "Starclan is warning me. Redeye must have done this- she always did like to scare me. Starclan is giving me the most horrible warning. Something's going to happen, Autumnstar. Cats are going to be killed... and one of those monsters grabbed me with giant jaws..."
It felt so real- feeling those teeth crunch into her bones under the lifeless gaze of that one eye. "The forest will never be the same."

Autumnstar immediately stood stock-still. "Wetleaf. Your dreams-- they-they're true. I met a great beast in the forest. Large jaws, slavering mouth, a giant creature. A canid. I was taking Talonscar out hunting. I ran away as fast as I could, and... Yes. We must give it and its pack one third of our freshkill..." she meowed.

Wetleaf paced back and forth, trampling the grass into oblivion. "Oh, Autumnstar... that beast must have been horrible. Did it have one eye? I... I don't want to talk about it." She remained quiet- she had no mother to talk to, no father. No apprentices. Only the leader who she always looked up to. "...Autumnstar... in that dream... one of those wolves killed me." She was shivering. "I didn't really die, but Starclan was warning me- some one-eyed thing was chasing me down, grabbed me in its jaws, crunched down, and killed me." Her whiskers twitched.
"S-s-should we obey the monster's demands? For the good of the forest, we might as well... until we get more warriors. Until we learn what these... things are."

Autumnstar looked at the sky. "This creature had two eyes, great StarClan, they were scary. Wetleaf, we have no choice but to obey their demands. They are more powerful than cats, and I suspect it would take over five of us to bring one down..."

Wetleaf nodded shakily. "The Gathering... I could hear the rush of water. I was in a pool of blood- it was enveloping everything. It was like the sound of Fourfalls..." Wetleaf's gut churned and twitched. "Oh, Autumnstar, the Gathering! Surely they won't do something to us at the Gathering?! Even Glacierstar of Iceclan... the biggest cat around... he would be killed nine times... oh... these creatures are so horrible..."
She felt like a kit again. "Autumnstar... at the Gathering... I want to be close. I don't want to be anywhere near those creatures..."

((Cerberus can't massacre them at the Gathering! That would end the site! Teh-doom!))
"It'll be okay, Wetleaf. The Clans are strong; we have overcome the worse threats in the past, and we'll be fine now. We just need to trust in StarClan. Thank you for sharing the warning with me," meowed Autumnstar.

((Heh. Cerberus won't massacre them.
Just chew up a kitty or two. Not kill any... maybe. xxD Unless people would want to be killed.
WETLEAF, I'M LOOKING AT YOU. n.n))
Wetleaf looked uneasy. "We should try to share the news of the creatures with the other cats of Emberclan. Naturally, they need to know about the demands of the monsters..." Wetleaf was nervous- she didn't know what a wolf was. As far as she knew, nobody in Emberclan had ever heard of the word wolf, including her.

((xD))
Autumnstar nodded. "Yes. I fully intend on doing that," she meowed. The leader tapped her Medicine Cat on the shoulder comfortingly. "Don't be afraid. StarClan shall help us overcome whatever lurks in the shadows..." But a thought lurked in her mind, darker than any words she could utter. What if even StarClan cannot save us from the impeding danger?

"Thank you, Autumnstar. Certainly we should warn the other cats at the Gathering, just to be safe. I'm certain Iceclan can stand firmly against these beasts, considering how they're led by Glacierstar and Wolfsong..." Wetleaf felt embarassed, knowing that she was praising the leader of another clan.
"May Starclan be with us all..." Wetleaf mumbled, heading back to her den. "Thank you, Autumnstar. Thank you."

Autumnstar nodded. "You're welcome, Wetleaf. I do fear for us all... I do..."

Talonscar and Cheetahpaw padded into the Clearing, tehir jaws crammed with prey. As Cheetahpaw set down her prey gently, Talonscar dropped hers and immediatly asked about why Autumnstar had acted... strange, "Autumnstar, what's wrong?" she asked.

Autumnstar shifted uncomfortably. "I-I-I'll tell you later tonight. At moonhigh, when I make the day's announcements. Then we'll all find out..."

Talonscar frowned, as usual, she was impatient. Talonscar began to open her mouth in protest when Cheetahpaw grabbed her tail and stuffed it Talonscar's open mouth, a smug look on her face.
