Prologue:
It all started with the cats of the forest. They lived in peace within four clans:(After the original cats of Tunder, Wind, River, and Shadow found their new homes) ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan. But all that changed. It was as if StarClan had turned against them. While WindClan slept a tornado cruised through their camp. All but four cats died. RiverClan camp flooded killing all. ShadowClan camp was set on fire. The remaining cats begged to join ThunderClan. The leader agreed not knowing that he was killing them. Strong tunder storms whipped through ThunderClan and tore off the den rops exposing that cats to the harsh weather. They were making improvements on the tops when on dark, cold, and freezing night in leaf-bare, a blizzard blue through. The cats froze to death. StarClan welcomed all cats and gazed down at the emputy camps. Their hearts filled with sorrow as they let out wails. One brave warrior came up with the idea. She had been watching this kittypet from that safety of StarClan. Her name was Bluestar. The kittypet known as Oddpelt in Starclan but Sev in his kittypet house. Here is his account of the events that followed:
The black and white tom slept peacefully in his no-fur's bed. His tail curled around his nose as the sun rose. His no-fur awoke and scratched his back. Sev arched his back and flexed his claws. His tail flicked bcak and forth in pleasure. Looking up at his no-fur, his eyes filled with the excitement. She opened the door and let him run outside. The marble like tom was careful as he dropped into a crouch. Jay, a small bird flew in front of his nose. He pounced but let his friend get away. He rolled onto his back letting the sun soak his pelt. The tom found himself in a slumber. Voices filled the air as strange looking cats surrounded him. Oddpelt! It is great to see you..you do not know us but you will soon enough. A silver-blue she-cat purred. Her eyes were focused on him. A flame colored tom stepped forward. Hello, Oddpelt. I am Firestar. I was one of the former leaders of ThunderClan. Welcome to StarClan. The marble tom shook his head back and forth. I am NOT ODDPELT! My name is Sev! What is StarClan!?!? He yowled. The silver-grey she-cat gave him a gentle glance. There is much to be taught young kittypet, but first follow us. She whispered. "Sev! Sev! Are you ok buddy?" A voice called to him. Opening his eyes he stared up at the silver blue she-cat. Jumping he backed up rapidly. Follow me! She teased. Her pet was twinkling like stars. Beside her was a grey tom, the flame colored tom, a bracken colored tom, a pale ginger she-cat, and a blue-grey tom and she-cat. The bounded across the thunderpath. Being more careful Sev looked to make sure nothing was coming. He followed them as fast as he could. They had paused to let him catch up. With amazing speed the cats were off again. Leaping over logs, running through the forests, until they came to the firest camp. He stopped as the cats let him walk in. His eyes feasted on the camp of ThunderClan. Sev fell to the ground writhing as his as sights raced in front of him: A flame tom wrestled with another, dogs chasing cats, plunging into icy water, a tiger striped tabby tom leapt at a red tom, blood pouring from Scrouge, an apprentice being mauled by dogs, a fire raging, a kit foaming at the mouth, and a blue-grey she-cat feeling betrayed. He jerked back to the present and stared at the cats gathered around him. The blue-grey she-cat spoke quickly You have learned part of ThunderClan's history. There rest will be made clearer soon. Come let's visit ShadowClan. Sev stood shaking and followed them. They went slower as they let the kittypet recover from the shock. Sev parted his mouth to speak but closed it again. As they neared a darker and colder camp. His paws stepped onto the ground and another spasm hit: The smell of sickness, a fierce tom fighting two apprentices who had no chance to win and were killed, kits taken from their mothers, hope arriving in the form of a tiger tabby, and then cats fleeing from loners. He stood up not shaking as much this time but he wasn't as shaky. Firestar turned to him. Now time to visit RiverClan. The traipsed back across ThunderClan territory, and over a river. As they neared the RiverClan camp he began to prepare himself for what he would see. His breath caught in his throat as the visions came quicker this time: Cats writhing underneath loners, a bonehill with the tabby tom he had seen so much of, a grey blue tom being killed, appretices that where half clan, and a feeble old leader slowly dieing. As he awoke from this attack of visions he couldn't help but ask. What is with the tiger tabby? His voice was slightly shaky as he regained his strength. Firestar gave him a piercing look. In time!YOu must see WindClan. Turning the crossed the border and padded along a stretch of moorland. Finally they arrived at some bracken bushes. Stepping into Windclan camp, another fit hit Sev: Cats half starving, fending for themselves against two other clans, being poisened by their own food, crouching underneath a thunderpath, and a she-cat mourning the death of her son. His eyes flew open as he took a deep ragid breath. Who did t-t-this? He stammered. That is for me to tell! Firestar meowed solemly. It all began with a cat named Tigerclaw. He wanted to become deputy. He killed Redtail, and then was still not made deputy. Lionheart was killed in battle, finally he was made deputy. But his hunger for power did not end there. He wanted to be leader. He tried to kill Bluestar; plotted with Brokenstar, lured dogs to camp, and brought the wrath of Bloodclan upon us. Finally he met his match and was killed by Bloodclan. We had moons of peace but we left. Now Silentthought will tell you the rest. As he spoke, a silver tortiose shell she-cat stepped forward. The other cats sat and watch waiting for her to speak. Now it is time to show you what happened to my clans. She spoke quietly. Her eyes glowed as she turned to look at the river. Sev had a new fit. This time it was worse, the pain was much worse: Cats screaming in pain as blood poured from their bodies, kits lay frozen in snow, fire striking in the night burning cats the smell of singed hair in the air, heads bobbing underwater as their owners struggled to surface, cats being lifted into the air by high winds, a cat rushing back and forth between sick queens who lay deing, a queen killing a kit, a queen taking her kits to safety, leaders falling, and blood stained grounds. He took a deep breath thinking everything was over. A new spasm hit. His eyes rolled into the back of his head as: a she-cat and loner hid the love, the queen crying in pain as he was killed, a dark grey tom being framed for something he did not do, a medicine cat laying dead, the clan attacking one of their own, fur flying in the air, and a sense of betrayal as an apprentice helps his friend escape.[/i] Sev let out a yowl as the last of his visions dissapeared. He laid there shaking. His eyes shifted to the cat in front of him. I am sorry you had to go through that pain. But you are the promised cat. She whispered. Stepping back, the blue-grey she-cat took her place. I am Bluestar of Thunderclan. You heard about Tigerstar, Tigerclaw, and his quest for vengeance. Silentthought's clans took over this land when ours left. They are far away and there is no need to find them. They are safe. But You Oddpelt have a task set before you. You are to become a clan leader and set up a new ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. We will help you. First you must be taught the warrior code, then you will become a leader. The code will come one day. You will remember. She paused. Then taking on a deep serious voice she began. Cats of Starclan, Oddpelt is about to join our ranks. Two cats from each clans will give him a life. Silentthought will give him a life from all of her clans. She stepped back. Firestar stepped forward. I Firestar, former leader of ThunderClan, give Oddpelt his first life. With this life I hope to give you the courage and caring that you will need in the time to come. As the flame colored tom touched noses with Oddpelt, Sev, pain coursed through his body. He saw flashes of Firestar being held down as dogs thunder closer, plunging into the river to save Bluestar, two more blue-grey cats coming to his aide. As his vision cleared and he looked up at Firestar. The leader dipped his head and stepped back. Bluestar smiled and stepped forward in from of Oddpelt. I Bluestar, former leader of Thunderclan, give Oddpelt his second life. With this life I hope to give you the faith to put in your warriors even when one is untrustful. The anger, fear, nervousness, and betrayal filled him. He saw a feeble Bluestar curled up in her den, Bluestar leaping at the lead dog, plunging into the river, her shocked face when Tigerclaw was found out, and her joy when her kits finally realized who their mother was. Oddpelt looked up as Bluestar let another blue-grey cat take her place. I, Stonefur, former deputy of RiverClan give you your third life. With this life I hope to give you faith to put in your clan and the will power to fight for what is right. The pain that sliced through Oddpelt this time was strong. He saw the blue-grey tom pulling his mom to safety and him fighting to protect two grey kits. He looked up only to see a light silver grey she-cat standing in front of him. I , SIlverstream, former warrior of RiverClan give Oddpelt his fourth life. With this life I give you love that will be given to that special she-cat. As she touched him he felt a strong warm love. He saw the she-cat with a dark grey tom, she and him snuck off to meet each other, then she died giving birth to he kits which she gave her life to give them life. As she stepped back she smiled. A small cat took her place. He looked at Oddpelt then spoke. I, Gorsepaw, former apprentice of WindClan give Oddpelt his fifth life. With this life I give you the pain that comes with loosing a loved one. As he touched noses with Oddpelt the pain seized him. A she-cat mourned the loss of her kit, the same one he had seen before and Firestar carrying the kit back to his home. As Gorsepaw backed up letting a new cat take his place. I, Tallstar, former leader of Windclan give you your sixth life. With this life I give you the ability to trust the other leaders. Tallstar touched noses with Oddpelt. The pain wasn't as strong this time. He saw the cats huddled by a thunderpath, Brokenstar driving them out, and the gratitude at being brought back home. Oddpelt began to feel his strength return and he was able to ignore most of the pain. He looked at the next cat. I, Nightstar, former leader of Shadowclan give you your seventh life. With this life I hope to give you the heart to fight sickness and live for you clan. As the leader touched Oddpelt. The stench of sickness filled his nares as he saw a leader crouched in a medicine cat den. Nightstar stepped back as he turned around looking for another Shadowclan look for take his place. I'll go! Silentthought meowed. She took a step forward. I, Silentthought, former medicine cat of the new Thunderclan give you the wisdom of all the cats gone. She stepped forward and touched his nose. The pain was almost to much to bear this time. Cats screaming in pain, thunder, lightning, water, and darkness swam before his eyes. He awoke as he stared at the cats. He needed only one more life. He rose to his paws as he awaited the next cat. Darkness swam before his eyes again. At first he thought it was the visions again but a sinister voice echoed. I belive I have a say in this. A muscular tabby walked forward. His muscles rippled underneath his pelt as he passed the others. They stared in disbelief at what they saw. Before they could step in the tom chanted:I, Tigertstar, former leader of Shadowclan give this cat his last life. With this life I hope to give you my treatchery, ambition, and hate for kittypets. The pain coming from this cat was to strong. Oddpelt felt in and out of consciousness as he took what he saw in stride. A cats slicing Tigerstar down the belly, taking over a clan, felling angry as the dogs didn't do their job, and made as his son refused to join his clan. Oddpelt heard Bluestar gasped. No! Tigerstar had dissapeared as Oddpelt came to. He stared up at them all with a confused look on his mug. What happened? He asked feebly. Nothing Oddstar nothing! Bluestar meowed. Slowly a chorus of Oddstars rang out as they chanted his name. Bluestar stood and dipped her head. Oddstar, you are the promised cat. You must find a new home for the Newer clans. We will be with you. She spoke. Their forms faded as the tom cat found himself alone. Follow me! She teased once again as he plodded forward.
Oddstar traveled, to a strange new place. This is it!Voices called out.Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan were brought back to life. Oddstar became the leader of Thunderclan. He awaited his fellow cats to come. He needed to teach them the code. But something troubles Starclan. The promised one might be the very danger that will destroy the Clans. But then again deception is everywhere.
