A large gray shape stalked out of the undergrowth, massive paws thudding on the flattened blades of grass near the giant asphalt grounds. Tail flicking annoyedly, the IceClan deputy paced, ears alert, and dark brown eyes darting to and frow. Wolfsong's long, fluffy tail brushed the dirt in a million places, obliterating tiny shards of sand into particles of airborn debris. A new scent filled his nostrils, and the gray tom stepped back again, into the foliage of IceClan.
A cold breeze whipped along the Thunderpath, blowing a few lone leaves and petals along it. Even though it hadn't been used for centuries, the path withheld the everlasting Twoleg stink.

Woosh! With one swish of a paw, Weaselpaw was in sight, yawning. "Oh. My. This place stinks quite badly, wouldn't you agree?" He said calmly, waiting for Jaguarpaw to laugh at his jokes. "And it isn't those big twolegs, either. I smell Iceclan. Man. You know, I've never been to a Gathering before, so I always wonder. Are Iceclan cats big and fat, or are they tiny and frail? They're wimpy, I can tell. I mean, seriously, Iceclan? Who'd want to live in a giant icicle? Sheesh. Weirdos."
He stepped from the bent blades of grass that were now smashed into the dirt from his paws onto the rocky substance covering the Thunderpath. He could see little lines in the middle of it, and Weaselpaw had declared this to be the imaginary border between Forestclan and Iceclan.
He stepped daintily on it, yawning as his tail twitched. "Oh. I'm such a bad little apprentice, I am. Shame, shame. My mother would cry if she could see me now..."
"Your mother won't see you, little brat..." Nasir thought, his paws clacking on the cold asphalt. Bits of filmy moss clung to his paws, having grown on the Thunderpath since it was abandoned- that, and the fact that the crumbling road often got quite wet when it rained. The gray wolf's tail was straight up, signaling that he was willing to prove that he was the best.
The 'Cyclops' flicked an ear, and quietly waited. He sat so the howling wind from the Iceclan territory scattered his scent- he had cleaned himself at a lake, anyway. Hmm. Cats. These ones looked like they would be easy to kill.

"Hey, you beat me!"
The meow echoed across the area as Jaguarpaw padded in, laughing and panting at the same time at the jokes. "Okay. So two tree-lengths starting from here," he gestured towards the beginning of the Thunderpath. "That's how far I'm going..."

"Hah. Then I'll go farther. Woosh!" The cat sprang forward, letting out a bit of a yelp when he stepped on something. "OW OW OW!" He looked down irritably. A... claw? A shedded claw was protruding from the crack- some creature had recently shed it... and it was giant. Giant, evil, and black. The cat stepped back, trembling a bit, though Weaselpaw quickly put on a daring face and lunged forward. "There's half a tree." He dashed forward. "And I'm getting closer, and closer..."
Glacierstar padded forward, a sickening crunch resounding as his virtually unretractable claws ripped through leaves. His tufted ears were alert and up, and the gray, handsome beast looked wearily at Wolfsong. "Wolfsong, my good friend... do you smell Forestclan?" He mumbled tiredly, his whiskers flicking. He stopped dead still- his tail would fluff up, but he had no tail. The lynx-cat tried to remain calm. He recognized that calico- some obnoxious apprentice... he would say nothing about that incident. "I say we chase them away. Either that, or watch and wait. Then we'll show those young cats proper manners..."

Oakleaf could smell a lot from where she perched in a tree. She could also see Glacierstar and Wolfsong from her own Clan, IceClan. Her green eyes watched them, curiously. Then, another scent rose to her nostrils. ForestClan?
Well, it was the border between the two Clans. What else can one expect? No scent at all, just the boring, old, abandoned Thunderpath, and nothing else? Well its possible, but not in this lively forest.
Oakleaf sighed and rested her head against the tree trunk. Her tail hung over the branch, and the cats below could probably smell her, if not see her. With a yawn, she jumped down, landing on all four paws. She walked up from behind. "Hey Glacierstar, Wolfsong," she greeted calmly, quietly.
She sat down beside Wolfsong, her tail curled neatly around her forpaws.

Wolfsong's lips barely moved as he replied, darkly, "I'll be glad to teach them a good lesson. It's that one again, isn't it? And he brought friends..."
Jaguarpaw sniffed at the claw, and flicked it away with his paw, bounding forward. "I'm at one tree-length! Betcha can't get two!" he called.
Wolfsong glared, his pupils angry slits. The apprentices were almost across the path, and nearing the territory. He did all he could to hold back a hiss.

Oakleaf gasped, the ForestClan apprentices were nearing the 'invisible border', and her ears pinned to her head. "They're.. getting too close." She whispered to Wolfsong, narrowing her eyes and letting her tail flick back and forth.
She leaned back to look past Wolfsong and at Glacierstar. He was just watching the ForestClanners. She straightened herself and went back to watching the apprentices.
'How far will they go?' She thought, neck fur bristling a bit.

Weaselpaw furrowed his brow. "Bah! I'll go a seqouia-length! Beat that, Jaguarpaw!" He laughed almost madly as he sped past his companion, speed being one of the reasons that the creature got his name- that... and... well, various other reasons. The Iceclanners must have been a lousy bunch. "You know, Jaguarpaw. I think these Iceclanners have null noses. I mean, seriously. Wouldn't they be attacking by now? Naw. Their brains are probably frozen."
Glacierstar nodded at his two companions. "Oakleaf, Wolfsong, watch this." He purred in slight amusement. "Just be prepared for the noise. Lynxes have an awfully loud yowl, after all..." The creature pounced out with a loud WHUMP right after Weaselpaw set his forepaw on the very border of Iceclan. It was awfully chilly.
Yellow eyes were slitted, narrow as needles, and the creature lifted a giant forepaw, extending his hooked claws- they were quite good for traction, so he ran sturdily and strongly. His ears shot up fully, the fine-spotted lynx-cat's muscles bulging from his coat of slick fur. It was groomed neatly, and the cat with no tail sat viciously. He opened his mouth, and let out the loudest roar ever. It wasn't that of a cat- oh, no. Cats just let out yowls. He let out a rumbling, rapidly changing roar, sharp, that of a bobcat. He skulked forward, looking at the two apprentices menacingly.
Weaselpaw scoffed as Glacierstar approached. "Forestclan cats! Run back to your camp or FACE MY CLAWS!" Glacierstar was nice to Iceclanners, but he obviously despised other cats. He didn't want to cut these two apprentices into slivers, but if it was necessary he certainly would.
Weaselpaw ignored the danger, looking at the cat. "Oh, please. Stop making that freaky noise. Who the furball are you?" Glacierstar snarled. "I am Glacierstar, leader of Iceclan, king of the frost." "Yeah. Yeah. That's nice." Weaselpaw hid the terror in his voice- he remembered this cat. And this cat had easily doubled in size since he last saw it.
Nasir flinched at Glacierstar's roar. "Hmm. Lynx-cat. I see. Interesting mix... but let's see what he thinks of a wolf howl." He waited, twistedly patient, calmly hoping for the perfect opportunity to let his cry escape from his mouth.

Oakleaf tried to hold in laughter. She smiled and watched the apprentice. 'They'll be scared..' She thought, then her eyes widened. Weaselpaw had barely moved, and Oakleaf was surprized at this. Even she would quiver in fear if she heard Glacierstar's roar for the first time face-to-face.
She stood up and stepped closer. She came up behind Glacierstar, her eyes narrowed, and the pupils so slighted they were barely seen. She curled her lip back with a snarl, then hissed. Her meaning clear, 'don't come any closer'.

Jaguarpaw quivered, and slowly slunk up beside his friend. A small noice echoed from his mouth. Kind of a 'meep' sounding thing. A pathetically small voice welled up in the apprentice as he stared at the IceClan leader.
Wolfsong, laughter plastered on his face, strolled out, and sat by his leader. Though the tom was far oversized, he was dwarfed by Glacierstar.

Weaselpaw sneered, the striped cat brushing his tail. "Oh, very scary, big cat. I'm being outnumbered three-to-two! Pfft! Cowardly Iceclan cats. You guys really /are/ sad." Weaselpaw mocked and taunted, springing forward, creamy paws going completely over the border. His tipped tail twitched and waved, and then Glacierstar revealed his claws- now Weaselpaw started to cower back, losing his gusto.
However, that was when the howl rang out. It was pure and menacing, and even froze Glacierstar. Hurriedly, the beast looked at Wolfsong. "Wolfsong... that's a wolf. I know it is."
Weaselpaw rolled his eyes. "What in the name of Starclan's a 'wolf'?" Obviously, Emberclan had absolutely no idea what a wolf was, and, apparently, Forestclan had no idea as well. "Stay still, you idiotic apprentice, stay still!" Glacierstar hissed.
That was when the ferocious figure came charging, claws clicking madly, tongue lolling out as Nasir charged from the foliage, running down the Thunderpath, heading straight for them. He let out another bloody howl, and his one yellow eye glimmered as he steadily got closer.
Weaselpaw was fluffier than a cotton ball, his tail puffing up in fear as he stood back. Nasir halted, glaring at the group maliciously, smirking. "Well, well, lynx-cat. You know just what I am. Then you certainly must know that I'll kill you..."

Wolfsong hissed, then bowled into the ForestClan apprentices. "Get back to your territory, /now/," he growled.
The gray Warrior turned to face the beast. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

Oakleaf swung to face the wolf. She rose onto her hindlegs for a moment, hissing and spitting at the wolf. "What, in the name of StarClan, are you doing here, wolf?" She hissed, falling back down onto all four paws.
Her ears were pinned to her head, and her eyes were still narrowed and almost pupiless.

Nasir laughed. "I'M HERE TO KILL YOU ALL! FEAR THE HOWL OF THE WHITE CYCLOPS!" ...Nasir was starting to think the name, though degrading and humiliating, was a bit catchy. After all, Weaselpaw looked ill just from seeing that empty socket. "Let's see. Five kitties, one wolf. This should be easy..." He said wickedly. However, Weaselpaw, though a bit aching because he got tackled by Wolfsong, hissed, revealing his claws, even though the young cat still had small claws, and wouldn't get large ones until he was a warrior.
"Hmmph. You can go run into me, Iceclan weirdo, but I'm attacking! TAKE THIS, YOU THING!" Weaselpaw did what no cat ever would have expected- winking at Jaguarpaw, he fearlessly launched himself, and landed square on the wolf's back. Digging in, he bit into a soft spot, making Nasir yelp- the wolf shook his back wildly, and though Weaselpaw was getting tired, he still hung on, and dug his fangs in deep.
"Mousebrain!" Glacierstar snarled- Nasir looked ferocious, and it would be a bit risky attacking the wolf now, what with Weaselpaw on its back. He sighed. "Wolfsong, Oakleaf, stand back and assist me when I get the wolf down." He let out another yowl, and pounced, hooking his claws into the leg of Nasir before biting in deep- Nasir smirked. "Here, kitty kitty." With one bite and a swat of his paw, he had actually sent the large cat skidding back, now with a fresh, deep wound on his shoulder.

Oakleaf nodded to Glacierstar, but when he was batted aside like a dead mouse, she yowled and lunged, claw outstretched. She landed jsut infront of the wolf, and lept up to claw at his throat. ((Arhg.. Writers' block.))
